CFO welcomes three new board members

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks welcomes three new members and a new slate of officers to its Board of Directors for the 2016-17 fiscal year.

  • The new board members are:

    • Kathy Lasley has been president of the Cuba-based affiliate, the Crawford County Foundation, Inc., since 2009 and will serve as a regional representative. She is retired from a 22-year high-school teaching career and is an active community volunteer.
    • Abram McGull II is an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri based in Springfield. He previously worked for the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of State and also retired as a commander in the U.S. Navy. He has served as Mayor of Pleasant Hill, Mo.
    • Morey Mechlin retired last year as executive director of Care to Learn. She received the Humanitarian Award in 2014 for her work with children and her extensive community volunteer activities. She also previously served as executive director of the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools.

    The 2016-17 CFO Executive Committee is comprised of: Robert Foster, Chair; Jeff Schrag, Vice-chair; Jami S. Peebles, Treasurer; Karen Miller, Secretary; Stephanie Stenger Montgomery, Chair emeritus; Robin Walker, Investment Advisory Board Chair; Richard Cavender and Ron Penney, At-large members.
