Karen Miller

Karen Miller smallKaren is a retired teacher for Ozark Public Schools.

She taught for 29 years, 27 of them in Ozark. She still coaches at Ozark and is on the Ozark School District Foundation board.

She has been a member of Missouri Retired Teachers Association since 2003 and served three terms as president of Christian County Retired School Personnel. She is now the Region 10 VP for MRTA and “oversees” local units in 10 counties. She is President Elect of Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation, the financial arm of MRTA and helped them start their first endowment fund with CFO.

Karen is a founding board member of the Finley River Community Foundation, and the second president, an office she held for seven years. Karen serves on the FRCF board and serves as Grants Chair. She is the founding sponsor for the Youth Empowerment Project of Ozark. The YEP group is 13 years old, has an endowed fund and has awarded more than $15,000 in grants to other youth organizations within the Ozark School District boundaries.

This is her sixth year on the CFO board, where she has served on the Executive, Coover, Agency Partners and Rural Economic Development Committees.

She has two children and three grandchildren.
