Sandra Thomason

Thomason, Sandra WEBRetired business owner, community volunteer

Sandra Thomas was professionally involved in her family business, which specialized in electrical pole line construction, for many years, and for 15 “fun” years in the travel industry. She is presently, semi-retired and keeping books for family interests in rental and hunting properties.

She is a lifetime member of United Methodist Church, having served boards and agencies at the local, district, and Missouri West Conference levels. Sandra is also a former member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, having served 25 years in local, district, state, and international offices.

Sandra is an organizer and founding member of the Missouri Federation of Parents for Drug Free Youth, which after five years became the forerunner of the Missouri DARE program. She is also an organizer and founding member of the Truman Lake Community Foundation, an affiliate of the CFO.

Sandra was born in Louisiana and raised in a Christian family, saying: “I’ve been blessed to be the wife of one, mother of two, grandmother of two, and great grandmother of one.”

Her favorite hobbies are scuba diving and, for 25 springs now, hunting the Missouri Wild Turkey. The diving has gifted her with more than 150 ocean dives and the hunting has provided her with “not quite 25 gobblers, but not far from it!”.
