New Partnership with CHART

DCCF has partnered with the Douglas County Community Health Assistance Resources Team (CHART) to support citizen groups that do not have tax-exempt status. CHART agrees to provide fiscal sponsorship for these groups so that they can apply to DCCF for funding. This allows us to provide support for developing groups with ideas for improving the community. This partnership provided the funding needed for the Douglas County Fire Chief’s Association to apply for their own 501(c)3 status. The Association then applied for and received a grant of $240,000 for turn-out gear and training for Douglas County firefighters.

DCCF Supports New Citizen Groups

The Douglas County Community Foundation has provided grants to three new citizen groups:

  • Ava Citizens Action League helps downtown Ava businesses improve the appearance of their buildings with paint, new signage, new awnings and other updates.
  • Pioneer Heritage Festival of the Ozarks holds an event during the first weekend of October featuring traditional Ozarks music and skills such as weaving, spinning, basketmaking and blacksmithing.
  • 2500 Miles of Art and Culture offers a week-long schedule of tourism events including musical concerts, storytelling, and tours of the Elk Ranch, Civil War sites, fish farms, and the local art and historical museums.
