Cassville Community Foundation Exceeds Hunger Challenge Goal

The Cassville Community Foundation has successfully raised more than $5,300 for the Ozarks Million Dollar Hunger Challenge, meeting their fundraising goal more than three months early. This money was matched dollar for dollar by the $100,000 grant received from the Walmart Foundation State Program.

Because of the program’s partnership with Ozarks Food Harvest, the $10,600 will procure $53,000 worth of food to help fight hunger in the Cassville area. Newly released statistics about hunger in our Ozarks’ communities is available through the study, Hunger in America 2010. This information can be found on the Ozarks Food Harvest website, www.ozarksfoodharvest.org/hungerstudy.

The Cassville Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.  Last fiscal year, the Cassville Community Foundation granted more than $10,500 back to the community. To learn more about the Cassville Community Foundation, please click here.
