Cause Momentum Launches Featuring Five Projects

After more than a year and a half of planning, developing and testing, the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and Marlin Company are happy to announce the launch of Cause Momentum. The crowdfunding platform is designed to connect web-savvy donors to specific needs of CFO-affiliated nonprofits, hopefully increasing our agency partners’ donor pool while connecting a new generation of philanthropists to causes and needs they may not have known about.

Today’s launch — a Beta launch, as it’s known in the web business — follows an Alpha phase last year, in which about $20,000 was raised for our seven testing agencies, including The Moxie’s digital theater conversion, which we were thrilled to see reach full funding just yesterday. A round of design and functionality improvements followed. The Cause Momentum  you see today has now launched for good, though as with any newly launched site, there may be small glitches to fix and improvements to make as we go. We greatly appreciate you reporting any problems you may encounter to us by e-mailing mlemmon@cfozarks.org.

So now, take a look at the site and check out the five projects that started when we went live. Projects include a buy-a-brick fundraiser for the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks; an Spanish-language immersion experience and a visit to the Titanic Museum Attraction for The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools; kids’ dental services for OACAC; and a drive to purchase 200 bicycles for boys at the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. A sixth project, for the Fair Grove Public Schools Foundation, is scheduled to begin tomorrow.

We appreciate these agencies’ excitement, as well as the contribution of our seven Alpha testing agencies from last fall.

We’ll be posting tips and updates on Cause Momentum, and letting you know via this site and social media when new projects go live or near their completion.
