The Community Foundation of the Ozarks awarded $11,925 to four nonprofit agencies to extend the successful efforts achieved through grants received in 2013.
The Metro Springfield Performance Achievement grants were awarded for the first time this year to support programs that demonstrated success with previous CFO grant funds.
The recipients are:
- Friends of Operation US: $3,000 to add a male facilitator and increase emphasis for fathers attending “Project Hatching” workshops for stressed parents.
- Center City Christian Outreach: $3,000 to provide additional grocery and utility assistance for clients of the Well of Life food pantry supported by eight center-city churches.
- Community Partnership of the Ozarks: $3,000 to help support the second year of a contract for SocialServe.com, an online resource to help low-income residents find housing that fits their needs.
- University Child Care: $2,925 to extend earlier funding for Project Construct training, which is one of four early childhood curriculums approved by the state of Missouri.
The volunteer committee that reviewed the grant applications included: Jami S. Peebles, chair; Lindsey Neddenriep, Ron Ponds and Richard Russell, with staff support from Senior Program Officer Randy Russell.
