The Community Foundation Ozarks is pleased to be a part of the recent overhaul of the Springfield News-Leader‘s print newspaper. In addition to many other changes, including significant national and world content from USA Today, the News-Leader has started a new Community section. The CFO has been asked to provide a weekly column on the front page of this section, which will run every Tuesday.
Today marked the first appearance of this column, which focused on the now-open 2014-15 scholarship cycle, specifically the Richard E. Dorr Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship fund, established by the late U.S. district judge’s wife, will award at least one $3,000 to a second- or third-year law school student for the upcoming school year.
The CFO appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the News-Leader’s commitment to local news and issues.
