More than 125 CFO donors and supporters turned out for the Foundation’s annual donor event on Tuesday, June 2. This year, CFO held a family picnic at historic Phelps Grove Park in Springfield.

CFO reached a number of important milestones in the last year, most notably giving back a record $15 million in charitable grants and distributions for the 2009 fiscal year, which began July 1, 2008 and ends June 30, 2009. CFO board members, donors and staff also celebrated the 164 new funds established with the Foundation during the current fiscal year.

The occasion also provided the opportunity to thank outgoing members of the board of directors: Jim Anderson, Sally Baird, Jerry Jared and Yolanda Lorge. During their six years of service the Community Foundation of the Ozarks grew from $51 million in assets to our current total of $125 million, received an unprecedented $109.6 million in gifts and contributions, awarded a staggering $54.3 million in grants and distributions, and expanded to 40 affiliated community foundations.
