Metro Springfield Community Response Challenge Grants

Community Response Challenge Grants

This challenge grant round is intended to encourage qualifying agencies to submit proposals meeting Red Flag issues identified in the 2013 Community Focus Report for Springfield-Greene County (available in print and on line through this link).

A total of $100,000 in 1:1 matching dollars is available with individual awards capped at $10,000.

Proposals should focus on efforts to sustain or enhance existing programs that have a record of success on red-flag issues identified in the subject-area categories listed in the report. Program categories may include but are not limited to health and wellness issues, affordable housing strategies, sustainable resource development, community stabilization efforts, sustainability strategies for existing community-based non-profit agencies and collaborative partnerships between those agencies that are designed to meet Red Flag issues through shared resource development.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate and quantify in their proposal:

• The effectiveness of the existing program upon which the request is based;
• The potential impact of program outcomes for the identified red-flag issue; and
• The agency’s ability to raise matching funds.

Each successful applicant will be expected to establish a fund or use an existing fund held at the Community Foundation of the Ozarks to process grant and matching funds.

Grants proposals are to be submitted electronically through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks site by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 242014 with applicants chosen to pursue the 1:1 matching award amount prior to a Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 deadline.
