Council on Foundations features CFO’s disaster work

The Council on Foundations, the professional association for community and other types of foundations, invited the CFO to write a column about our disaster recovery and preparedness work. The column is one of a series of topics the CoF is covering in a lead up to its celebration of 100 years of community foundations at its annual conference this fall in Cleveland, where the first one was created.

Because of the challenges of our particular geography, the CFO has been involved in community recovery efforts for several disasters dating to the Stockton tornado in 2003. Our perspective is that it would be ideal if it never happened again, but based on our region’s track record, we can better serve by being more prepared.
