Fordland Students Featured at Springfield’s First Friday Art Walk

One of the CFO’s rural schools arts grant projects will be featured at the April 1 First Friday Art Walk at the Park Central Square library branch.

Middle-school students in Julie Taylor Jones’ art class at Fordland R-III schools will exhibit the photographs they took depicting their community. The project was funded by a grant from the Conco Community Arts Program.

More than 100 of the students’ photographs will be on display at the Park Central library from 6 to 10 p.m. on First Friday.

“I am very much looking forward to April’s First Friday Artwalk and want to personally thank Conco for supporting  the arts in rural schools,” Jones said.  “My students are literally beaming with pride.”

  1. Many of these wonderful photos have been on display in my library. I love them. Mrs. Jones and the Photogs have been a fantastic addition to the programs offered at Fordland Schools.
