As announced last year, our staff made a commitment to review the future of the Give Ozarks online giving day following its original three-year initiative. Ultimately, with the unanimous support of our Board of Directors, we have decided to put Give Ozarks on hiatus for 2018. We are so proud to have helped you raise $3.6 million during the last three years and we want to thank you for the work that your organizations put into your Give Ozarks projects. We plan to revisit the Give Ozarks decision again after 2018.
We’re happy to remind you that we still have Cause Momentum available for 30- or 45-day crowdfunding projects. Your Give Ozarks login credentials give you full access to this site; please e-mail Matt Lemmon at email@example.com with questions or to request to start a project.
We also are happy to announce two new programs to benefit our agency partners this year as part of our mission to assist nonprofits in achieving long-term sustainability.
Endowment Match Challenge
Similar to the endowment-matching opportunity during Give Ozarks, this new challenge will help create permanent sources of income for our partners. We will offer $50,000 in 1:2 matching dollars for agency partners to either establish a permanent endowment or increase an existing permanent endowment. The application process opens this winter. A volunteer grant committee will select 10 organizations, which will have one month to raise $10,000 to receive a $5,000 match from the CFO.
Cause Momentum Cohort
To continue the Give Ozarks priority of developing online marketing and crowdfunding skills, we also are offering a cohort that will allow partners to take full advantage our Cause Momentum platform (which powered Give Ozarks). The CFO will offer 20 partners a chance to join our first Cause Momentum Cohort and promote a project through this site, with digital marketing assistance provided by Mostly Serious, the Springfield-based web design firm that developed CauseMomentum.org and GiveOzarks.org . This cohort will be chosen through an application and committee process this winter and receive specialized online marketing training in spring 2018. After that, each organization will receive a $500 grant to implement an online marketing plan developed during this process and launch their projects simultaneously.
