Joe Kammerer joins CFO in West Plains office

Joe Kammerer will join the Community Foundation of the Ozarks as its Central Region Manager based in West Plains beginning Nov. 1, 2017.

Kammerer joins the CFO after spending 10 years at Missouri State University-West Plains, most recently as Director of Development. He has experience in donor relations, planned giving, and coordination of charitable gifts with the Missouri State University Foundation. He also has served on the board of the Community Foundation of West Plains, Inc., one of the CFO’s 49 affiliate foundations.

Prior to joining MSU-WP, Kammerer served as Director of Advancement for Peoria Christian School in Illinois. He also received his bachelor’s degree in political science at Eastern Illinois University.

Kammerer has been recognized with several honors from MSU and MSU-WP and also was named Volunteer of the Year by the West Plains Chamber of Commerce in 2010. He has served in several volunteer positions with the Chamber, including president of the Chamber’s Non-Profit Alliance.

In his new role at the CFO, Kammerer will lead development efforts in south-central Missouri and provide support to the CFO’s affiliate foundations in that region.

He succeeds Carol Silvey in this position. She also joined the CFO from MSU-WP and recently moved to the Ozarks Medical Center Foundation, which holds funds with the CFO as a nonprofit partner.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Joe to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.  His long-term experience in development and commitment to growing communities is exactly what we had in mind to help empower, encourage and train our affiliate foundations in asset and board development,” said Alice Wingo, CFO Vice President of Affiliates.

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks is a regional public charitable foundation with a service area covering 58 counties south of the Missouri River, including its network of regional affiliate foundations. The CFO holds assets of $266.7 million as of June 30, 2017 in more than 3,000 charitable funds serving donors, affiliate foundations and more than 600 nonprofit agencies and schools.
