KSMU features Springfield’s “Any Given Child” program to ensure arts access

Today’s “Making a Difference” segment on public radio station KSMU featured Springfield’s pAny Given Childarticipation in the  Any Given Child program hosted by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to ensure access to the arts for all kids.

Reporter Mike Smith talked to Springfield middle school students who attend a recent mini-production of “Romeo & Juliet” at Missouri State University. That’s just one of the new opportunities available this year to Springfield students with the expansion of the program to more grade levels.

Springfield was the second of what are now 14 cities selected by The Kennedy Center to participate in Any Given Child. The program is a collaboration among the CFO, Springfield Public Schools and the Springfield Regional Arts Council.
