Louise Whall Knauer will join the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) on May 3, 2010, as the Senior Vice President of Communications/Marketing. A 27-year veteran of the communications profession, Whall Knauer will bring expertise and fresh ideas to CFO.
“Louise brings valuable experience and a unique skill set that can benefit our organization greatly. More impressive, though, is the passion she brings to help build up communities, and her commitment to make things better,” said Brian Fogle, executive vice president of CFO.
Whall Knauer currently serves as the City of Springfield’s Public Information Director, a position she has held since January 2001. Under Whall Knauer’s leadership, the Department of Public Information restructured and redesigned the City Web site, instituted video programming of the weekly Council lunch meetings, added outreach through social-networking via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Nixle.com and partnered in the development of SpringfieldSource.org, an electronic civic newsletter.
“It is difficult to leave the City, especially our wonderful PIO staff and supportive Leadership Team colleagues, City Managers and Council members over more than nine years,” Whall Knauer said. “But I have been inspired for many years by the Community Foundation’s impressive impact on Springfield and all across our region. I’m very excited for the opportunity to add value to CFO’s commitment to building better lives and communities.”
