My Studio to Go highlighted in weekly News-Leader column

The Community Foundation Ozarks is pleased to be a part of the recent overhaul of the Springfield News-Leader‘s print newspaper. In addition to many other changes, including significant national and world content from USA Today, the News-Leader has started a new Community section. The CFO has been asked to provide a weekly column on the front page of this section, which will run every Tuesday.

Today’s column introduced My Studio to Go, a pilot project of the Any Given Child program. Seeded by donor Jeanie Morris, My Studio to Go provides backpacks and monthly supplies to second- and sixth-graders at four Springfield public schools–Holland, Cowden, Hickory Hills and Westport–to take home and keep for their own. Art teachers at those schools have developed take-home curriculum so students can expand on their classroom instruction.
