New Funds Friday: April 11

As often as possible, we like to share the news of new groups and individuals choosing to make philanthropic gifts and investments in their community. Benton County Community Foundation Scholarship Fund – This fund established by the BCCF board of directors will assist a student from each Benton County high school with a preference for those pursing vocational/technical studies. This is a component of the Benton County Community Foundation.

Boys & Girls Club of SWMO Fund – This fund will support the work of the Club that supports young people reaching their full potential. They are a new AP in the youth category and are a component fund of the Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri.

Carthage Humane Society, Incorporated Fund – This fund will support and assist community members with spay/neuter for pets, as well as operational expenses for the Humane Society. This is a new AP in the environment and animals category and a component of the Carthage Community Foundation.

Ruth E. Carter Charitable Fund – This fund will benefit the United Ministries in Higher Education, The Kitchen Clinic and Victory Mission.

CASA Endowment Fund – The CASA of South Central Missouri established this fund to assist with the long-term goals of the organization. It is a component of the Meramec Regional Community Foundation.

Children’s Center of Southwest Missouri Fund – This fund will help the Center investigate child abuse in a safe, child friendly setting. This is a new AP in the social services category and is a component of Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri.

Children’s Haven of Southwest Missouri Fund – This fund will help provide a temporary home to children birth through 17 whose families are experiencing crisis. This is a new AP in the social services category and a component of the Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri.

James & Kimberly Clark Family Scholarship Fund – This scholarship fund established by the Clarks will be a part of their estate plan. This is a component fund of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation.

Couch School Foundation
Couch School Foundation Endowment Fund
– These funds will support the activities of the Couch School District. This is a new AP in the education category. These are also components of the Alton Community Foundation.

Mark Craighead Memorial Scholarship Fund – Carol Craighead established this scholarship fund to honor her late husband Mark who believed in business and the American Dream. It will award to a Republic High School student pursuing higher education in business or a related field. It is a component fund of the Republic Community Foundation.

CWJC of Southwest Missouri Fund – This fund will distribute to the Countryside Christian Church until the Christian Women’s Job Corps of Southwest Missouri gets 501c3 status. They have applied. This is a new AP in the social services category and is a component fund of the Finley River Community Foundation.

Pat & Ransom Davis Charitable Fund – This fund will support four agencies in Taney County that assist with food insecurity, children, education and dental services respectively. This is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Taney County.

Eldon Community Pantry Fund – This fund will hold monies for the pantry as it offers hope and help to those in need. This is a new AP fund in the social services category and should be invested in cash. This is a component of the Eldon Community Foundation.

Matthew J. England Scholarship Fund – Pamela Hengen, Matthew’s mother, established this scholarship in his memory which will provide financial assistance to graduates of any high school or home school in Ozark County. This is a component fund of the Ozark County Community Foundation.

Friends of Ashley House Fund – This fund established by the Friends of Ashley House committee will support the transitional living program for girls 16-21.

Friends of Parkside Fund – This fund, established by the Friends of Parkside, will distribute to the City of West Plains to help renovate city property. This is a component of the Community Foundation of West Plains.

Ellsworth and Betty Haymes Memorial Fund – The Ellsworth Haymes Trust established this fund which will be a part of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation’s community grantmaking.

Mary Heiskell Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund – James and Wylma Heiskell established this scholarship in honor of Mrs. Mary Heiskell  who served as the music teacher at Couch Elementary and Couch High School for more than 30 years. It will award to a student from Couch High School who plans to obtain a degree in Elementary or Secondary Education. This is a component of the Couch School Foundation and the Alton Community Foundation.

Hidden Waters Nature Park Community Building Fund – This fund will help the Friends of Hidden Waters acquire, renovate and keep up a community building. This is a component of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation and should be invested in cash.

Hickory County CARES Fund – This fund will assist the organization as it provides nutrition to families in need. This is a component of the Hickory County Community Improvement Foundation and is a  new AP in the social services category.

John R. Johnson & Connie Hjelmeng Johnson Fund – This fund will support scholarships for Stone County residents, matching grants for Stone County churches and community betterment projects, and the Table Rock Lake Community Foundation.

Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity Fund – This fund will help as Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. This is a new AP in the community development category, and is also a component of the Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri.

Joplin Family YMCA Fund (JPYMCA) – This organizational capacity fund will help the Y support strong kids, strong families and strong communities. This is a new AP in the social services category and is a component of CFSM. It should be invested in cash.

Joplin Neighborhood Adult Literacy Action Fund – This fund will assist this literacy council. This is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri, and is a new AP in the education category.

Betty H. King Scholarship Fund – This fund will provide scholarships to women who intend to obtain a degree in math, science, engineering, or education in math or science from a 19 county area.

Lawrence County Drug Court Foundation Fund – This fund will support the Drug Court as it works with adults who struggle with substance abuse to make positive changes in their lives. It is a component of the Mt. Vernon Area Community Foundation.

Neale Family Fund – Chunk and Connie Neale established this family and community fund to assist with their personal giving. This is a component of the Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri.

Perry County Community Foundation Grantmaking Fund – This fund will support public, educational and charitable purposes in Perry County.

Thomas & Kimberley Prater Family Fund  – This fund will help the Praters’ simplify their personal giving.

QUWF Capacity Fund – This fund will help QUWF recover and restore habitat for upland wildlife. This is a component of the Dallas County Community Foundation.

QUWF Endowment Fund – The Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation established this fund. They are a new AP in the environment category and are a component of the Dallas County Community Foundation.

Sullivan Project Graduation Fund – This fund will assist the Sullivan School District with the Project Graduation program.

TLC Student Administrative Fund – TLC Student Fund established this fund to hold its administrative monies separate from programming monies. This is a component fund of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation.

TLC Student Endowment Fund –This fund will support the long term needs of assisting with Marshfield student needs. This is a component of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation.

Tri County Friends for Animals Fund – This fund will assist this organization as it helps animals. This is a component of the Lockwood Community Foundation and should be invested in cash. They are a new AP in the Environment and Animals category.

Amanda Witthaus Memorial Fund – The Gasconade County R-1 School District established this fund to hold short term monies raised in Amanda’s memory and honor. It should be invested in cash and is part of the Community Foundation of the Hermann Area.

Zechman Family Docs Vs. Jocks Fund – The OMC Foundation established this fund to support financial needs of pediatric rehabilitation patients which were previously funded by the Docs vs. Jocks basketball game.

Zechman Family Docs vs. Jocks Endowment Fund – Thisfund established by the OMC Foundation will also support of the needs of pediatric rehabilitation patients.
