The Perry County Community Foundation has joined the CFO as the 45th affiliate, based in Perryville, which is north of Cape Girardeau near Missouri’s eastern border.

The PCCF announced its affiliation at  a community luncheon last week at The Barren’s Winery before a group of civic and elected leaders in the area. PCCF President Kim Moore said the Foundation board is eager to serve the Perry County area by developing private charitable resources that can help move the community forward.

CFO President Brian Fogle welcomed Perry County to the CFO and explained the untapped potential that exists in Perry County and throughout Missouri for the nation’s largest intergenerational transfer of wealth. Over the next 10 years in Perry County, about $420 million is expected to transfer from the Greatest Generation and Baby Boomers to their heirs. If  local affiliate leaders would educate and encourage residents to consider leaving 5 percent of their estates for their charitable interests, that would have a transformative impact on Perry County, Fogle said.

Perryville is a city of about 8,200, which serves as the county seat. The CFO’s affiliate network spans a 58-county region of the state south of the Missouri River.
