Springfield-Greene County Community Innovation Grants Due March 8

Springfield and Greene County agencies with innovative environmental, conservation or community development programs need to submit their application for 2013 Metropolitan Springfield Community Innovation Grants by 5 p.m. tomorrow, March 8. A total of $50,000 is available, with a $10,000 to $12,000 range for proposal consideration. Possible categories under the “Community Innovation” grant opportunity may include:

  • Environmental and stewardship strategies designed to fulfill present and future community needs
  • Conservation of land, water or energy resources
  • Increasing the stability and sustainability of locally-sourced food production
  • Community development issues such as revitalization of the built environment or the development of urban green spaces
  • Other emerging community needs identified by the requesting agency
