Last Friday, four students were honored at a luncheon to celebrate their completion of the South-Central Student Leadership Initiative. The program, a part of Rural Schools Partnership, is designed to develop skills to create future community leaders for the Ozarks region. Over the last two years, these students–selected by their schools at the end of their sophomore years–learned from both adults and peers through activities that emphasize the RSP’s mission of place-based education that connects rural schools and their communities.
The four students who attended the Friday, Feb. 21 luncheon at the West Plains Country Club were:
• Hayden Berry, Dora;
• Eric Honeycutt, Alton;
• Levi Hargrove, Thayer; and
• Chelsea MacMillan, Gainesville
The Community Foundation of the Ozarks congratulates these students and wishes them the best in their college and career endeavors.
