Alton Community Foundation makes grants from Beatlemania proceeds

Our affiliate in Oregon County, the Alton Community Foundation, held its inaugural, two-day Ozarks Beatlemania concert in West Plains and Alton on Sept. 12-13. The event commemorated The Beatles’ 1964 sojourn to Pigman Ranch, a tour rest stop at the hight of Beatlemania. On Sept. 25, the ACF made two grants to local organizations using the proceeds from that event.

The local fire department building currently can house only two of the department’s three fire trucks. The third truck is incapacitated during the cold winter months due to the inability of the fire department to house it properly.
