Carol Silvey Joins MSU Wall of Fame as First MSU-WP Representative

MSU President Clif Smart, left, congratulates Wall of Fame honoree Carol Silvey, joined by MSU-West Plains Chancellor Drew Bennett

Accurately described as “community engagement personified,” the CFO’s Carol Silvey was one of six retired faculty or staff members to be inducted into the  Missouri State University’s Wall of Fame Friday afternoon.

She is the first member of the West Plains campus community to receive the honor given to former staff and faculty whose “service resulted in meaningful change” since the Wall began in 2002.

Silvey, who joined the CFO to open a West Plains office after retiring from MSU, began her 38-year MSU career as a history teacher. In 1994, she was named the first full-time Director of Development for MSU-WP.

As one of her nominations read: “During her tenure, scholarships were established, legislative funding became a reality and buildings began to appear as if by magic.”
