The Community Foundation of the Ozarks welcomes three new members to its Board of Directors for 2013-14.
The new board members are:
Ron Penney, CFP, ChFC, is a principal with Penney, Murray & Associates, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., based in Springfield. He has been named one of Barron’s Top 1,000 Financial Advisors for the past three years. He also volunteers for a number of community organizations.
Springfield Attorney Gary Powell is one of the managing partners for Husch Blackwell’s Springfield office. He is a past president of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and was named a “Best Lawyer in America” by “Trusts and Estates” in 2012-14.
Robin Walker, CFP, is a managing partner for Walnut Capital Management, an independent wealth management practice in Springfield affiliated with SignalPoint Asset Management, a registered investment advisor. He also is a member of the Board of Directors for the Monett Area Community Foundation and serves on the CFO’s Investment Advisory Board.
The CFO’s 21-member Board of Directors serves three-year terms with a second three-year appointment possible.
This year’s Executive Committee is comprised of: Chair Gloria Galanes, dean of the College of Arts and Letters at Missouri State University; Vice Chair Richard Cavender, Rolla, retired director of the Meramec Regional Planning Commission; Treasurer Shari Hoffman, senior wealth manager at BKD Wealth Advisors; Secretary Roger D. “Dusty” Shaw, a rancher in Thomasville; and Chair Emeritus Jill Reynolds, vice president at The Commerce Trust Co. At-large members are: Karen Miller, a retired Ozark educator; Mark Nelson, wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch in Springfield and chair of the CFO’s Investment Advisory Board; and Jami S. Peebles, senior vice president, Central Trust & Investment in Springfield.
