CFO Now Taking Applications for “Strengthening Our Communities” Strategic-Planning Process

The Community Foundation of the Ozarks is now accepting applications for the second group of participants for “Strengthening Our Communities,” a strategic-planning process developed by the University of Missouri Extension’s ExCEED program.

This year, the program will be available at no cost to four CFO affiliate communities. It is designed to bring community members together for a series of about 12 sessions over the course of a year or so. The program will focus on the community’s leadership development, asset mapping, data analysis, goal setting and measurement. The goal is to create an action plan for the community with associated goals, outcomes and performance measures.

Successful communities need to have buy-in for this process from civic and institutional leaders; the application will ask for letters of support to let us know there is broad-based interest in participating in “Strengthening Our Communities.”

If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, the CFO will host a free webinar at 2 p.m. ,Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, to provide more information and answer questions. If you would like to participate in this webinar, please contact Travis Liles at the CFO offices, (417) 864-6199, for dial-in details.

The application deadline is Oct. 15, 2013. The successful communities will be notified in early October. After some preparatory work this fall, the program would begin in early 2014.
