Just a reminder to nonprofit agency partners outside of Greene County: The application deadline for the CFO’s annual Coover Regional Grant round, aimed at fighting rural poverty, is this Friday, Jan. 18, at 5 p.m.
The Louis and Dorothy Coover Regional Grantmaking Program, a partnership between Community Foundation of the Ozarks and Commerce Trust Company, will award grants to agencies serving the Missouri Ozarks to support new or innovative programs or projects aimed directly at fighting rural poverty.
Eligible organizations with regional service areas primarily outside of metropolitan Springfield and Greene County are encouraged to apply. The Coover Grant Program has $145,000 to award to agencies providing services that address the above listed areas of interest, with a $10,000-$20,000 range suggested for proposal consideration.
Mrs. Coover, a 30-year employee of Commerce Bank, established the Louis L. and Julia Dorothy Coover Charitable Foundation in 1992 to honor the memory of her husband.
Grant proposals are to be submitted electronically through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks site by 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. The formal Coover Regional Award grant ceremony will take place on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at Commerce Trust Company.
