Grantmakers Challenge for Children Featured on KSMU

The conclusion of the five-year Grantmakers Challenge for Children was featured this week on KSMU’s “Making a Difference” series.

Reporter Jennifer Moore highlighted the ECHO Project, which was a five-year pilot project to provide a variety of strategies to improve learning success for kids at Springfield’s Campbell and Robberson Title I elementary schools. The ECHO Project was a partnership among Springfield Public Schools, Missouri State University, the Community Partnership of the Ozarks, and Burrell Mental Health. It was funded with a $1 million CFO grant over the five-year period, which represents the largest single grant ever awarded by the CFO.
