Making a Difference: Stories of Hope and Help debuts on KSMU

This year, the CFO and our longtime partner KSMU are putting a new spin on our annual Making a Difference series.

This morning marked the debut of the first installment of Making a Difference: Stories of Hope and Help. Produced by KSMU’s Mike Smith and inspired by NPR’s popular Story Corps segments, which typically feature two individuals having a one-on-one discussion, Stories of Help and Hope will feature people from the world of philanthropy in Springfield and the Ozarks.

The inaugural piece features CFO Scholarship Coordinator Judy Billings and Yelena Bosovic, a student she has worked very closely with on multiple scholarships over the past several years. The Glendale graduate – who spoke no English as a child as an immigrant from Ukraine – is now attending law school after earning her undergraduate degree from Drury University. The conversation highlights Yelena’s unique story and roles Judy and CFO scholarship donors played in helping her succeed.

You can listen to the entire segment here, or you can listen in again at 4:44 p.m. on KSMU, 91.1 FM in Springfield.
