Rural schools in the Ozarks face significant funding disparity. This was the subject of an October 2008 Rural Policy Matters report, previously mentioned on our web site, from the Rural School and Community Trust. Linking public schools to community foundations can’t make up for the huge funding gap, but forging such partnerships can give schools other advantages, such as funding unique learning opportunities, linkages to other service organizations and other entities, and solidifying community support.
Partnerships between schools and community foundation will be the subject of our next Essential Questions webinar, on Tuesday, February 24 at 10 a.m. Don’t miss the opportunity to discuss this subject with leaders from CFO and public schools throughout the Ozarks region. For complete participation instructions, please visit our Essential Questions page or contact Bridget Dierks at firstname.lastname@example.org or (417) 864-6199.
