Lemmon previously served as CFO’s communications director
The Community Foundation of the Ozarks has hired Matt Lemmon as its vice president of communications. He will start on Monday, June 24, in a newly created leadership role to guide the CFO’s external and internal communications.
From 2011 to 2018, Lemmon served as the CFO’s director of communications and marketing before joining Burrell Behavioral Health, where he most recently served as vice president of communications for Burrell’s parent company, Brightli, and its subsidiaries. Prior to his first stint at the CFO, he was an editor and director at Whitaker Publishing.
For the last six years, Matt Lemmon led communications for Burrell Behavioral Health and its parent company, Brightli. “I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the CFO at an incredibly exciting time for this organization,” Lemmon said.
“Matt’s familiarity with our work in planned giving and place-based philanthropy across central and southern Missouri is invaluable,” said Winter Kinne, president and CEO of the CFO. “We’re pleased to welcome Matt back, knowing how much experience he gained leading communications for a fast-growing organization.”
Lemmon is a native of Ozark and has called Springfield home for more than 20 years. He earned his bachelor’s in journalism and master’s in business administration at Drury University.
He is a member of the Legacy Society for the Finley River Community Foundation, the CFO’s affiliate that serves Ozark and eastern Christian County. Lemmon currently serves on the board of directors for Developmental Center of the Ozarks, is a past board member and chair of Downtown Springfield Association, and is a graduate of Leadership Springfield’s Signature Class 30.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the CFO at an incredibly exciting time for this organization,” Lemmon said. “I look forward to sharing the stories of the Foundation and 55 affiliates, helping define the future of philanthropy in our communities, and expanding our critical mission.”
