Emily Stuart

Emily Stuart has 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, including as the Director of Family Development and Program Evaluation for LifeWise StL and the Executive Director of Gateway Pet Guardians. She received her Master in Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis, with a concentration in health policy. She has been an adjunct professor at both Washington University and St. Louis University. Emily is an alumna of the Focus St. Louis Emerging Leaders program and holds certificates in nonprofit business management (Washington University) and Immigration Law (Catholic Legal Immigration Network). Emily has served as Program Manager at the Marillac Mission Fund for three years, with a focus on work supporting immigrants and refugees, rural communities, and improved economic mobility.

Amy Stringer Hessel is the program officer for the state of Missouri with HRJ, overseeing all grantmaking in the state on behalf of an anonymous donor. Previously, she served as program director for the Missouri Foundation for Health, where she managed a five-year initiative to prevent childhood obesity and led the Healthy & Active Communities program. Prior to that, Amy was director of community economic development at the United Way of Greater St. Louis. She is a founding member of the Missouri Convergence Partnership, a Terrance Keenan Institute Fellow at Grantmakers in Health, and served as a leadership coach for the Missouri State YMCA’s Pioneering Healthier Communities initiative. Amy holds a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis.
