
Shauna O’Toole has secured $4.3 million in foundation, corporate, federal, federated, and local government funding since 2015. She is currently a Grants Specialist with Assel Grant Services. Shauna also has a background in fundraising and development more broadly. Shauna holds deep expertise in the St. Louis and Kansas City funding landscapes. Shauna holds a Master of Arts degree, the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential, and the Grant Professional Certified (GPC). She is active in Grant Professionals Association, where she was president of the Greater St. Louis Regional Chapter from 2022-2024 and remains on the chapter board. When she’s not working, Shauna is likely to be in the garden of her Wentzville, MO home with her husband.

Patrice Shumate has been serving the nonprofit community since 2005 as a social worker and began independent consulting work as a grant professional in 2016. Her passion is creating spaces where small nonprofits have the support they need to navigate a complex funding system. She works to build confidence and intention in how nonprofit leaders and grant professionals approach grant funding strategies. She is the owner of A Village for Good and a planning member of More Than Grant Writers, a group of grant professionals leveraging collective action to create positive change in how grant dollars are accessed.
